As Head of Development Energy of Battery (m/f/d) you are responsible for the further development of the active materials of the SolidFlow battery - the solid depots and liquid shuttles that interact as a system with the power unit. The aim is to increase the energy of our SolidFlow battery. In your role you will report directly to the Head of R&D. In this key role, you will have the opportunity to actively shape and commercialize a new energy storage technology. We are looking for an experienced leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who will work with the team to drive the industrialization of the battery.

We offer exciting and responsible tasks with creative scope:

  • Leading the teams in the field of electrochemical systems from depot and shuttle - from electroanalytics to battery cells and active materials - from laboratory to pilot plant scale
  • Optimizing the performance of the electrochemical components and increasing the energy of the battery
  • Identifying innovation opportunities and integrating new active materials for the next product generation
  • Ensuring documentation of the current battery status
  • Developing components from the concept phase through to validation in the series production process
  • Maintaining the specifications for the battery and its components
  • Providing technical support to the teams to achieve the set goals
  • Close cooperation with the other areas in R&D as well as Product Management and C-Level

Job-related requirements

  • Completed university degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or chemical engineering or a comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with relevant management experience
  • Experience in the development of battery cells or individual battery components in the industry
  • Sound knowledge of the development process (stage-gate process) and systematic requirements engineering
  • Sound knowledge of statistical methods
  • Sound knowledge of redox reactions and chemical reactors
  • Experience with simulation desirable
  • High level of responsibility and hands-on mentality
  • Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
