An important part of the development of our batteries is the automation of the test benches. The development of software for control and regulation requires interdisciplinary cooperation with colleagues from specialist areas such as chemistry, hydraulics, electrical engineering, construction and testing.

As a Senior Automation Engineer PLC/SPS for our battery systems, you can expect exciting and responsible tasks with creative freedom:

  • PLC development with integration of sensors and actuators as well as functionality for control and regulation of our battery test benches
  • Gathering and structuring of requirements with the departments
  • Independent realization and design of requirements in the PLC
  • Tests for controlling new components
  • Development of professional competencies and methods within the team

Job-related requirements

  • Completed studies in computer science/electrical engineering/mechatronics or comparable qualification acquired in practice
  • At least 3 years of experience in PLC development
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering, hydraulics and construction
  • Very good knowledge in handling Beckhoff TwinCAT 3
  • Confident handling of structured text (OOP) and CODESYS
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols and fieldbuses (Modbus, SUNSPEC, EtherCAT, CAN
  • Experience in the connection of interfaces (REST, MQTT, gRPC, OPC UA)
  • Basic understanding of web technologies and databases
  • Experience with version control system Git
  • Experience with agile software development processes and methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)

Nice-to-haves - with this you convince us

  • Knowledge in the use of Siemens TIA Portal
  • Experience in working with Docker
  • Experience with Linux servers and with the Linux command line
  • Experience with HMI integration of Beckhoff or Siemens control systems
  • Experience with CI / CD, preferably GitLab
  • Experience in the use of Jira & Confluence
