DR. PETER GEIGLE †

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, our founder Dr. Peter Geigle passed away.

After a short and serious illness, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

All of us at CMBlu Energy are deeply affected and our thoughts during these difficult days are especially with his wife and his family.

Peter founded CMBlu in 2014, shaped it, and drove it forward with full energy and passion. As a physician and biotech entrepreneur, he was fascinated by the brilliance with which nature transports and stores energy in living cells. From this fascination arose his vision to translate this natural way of storing energy into a technology that would make it possible to store electrical energy almost without limit — sustainably, safely, and independently of critical raw materials or supply chains.

In 2024, Peter handed over the operational management of the company in order to continue contributing strategically as a member of the supervisory board and to accompany CMBlu on its further path.

His tireless commitment and deep conviction laid the foundation for CMBlu Energy and inspired many of us. Those who knew him know that Peter was a special person — a visionary: curious, dedicated, intelligent, direct, and humorous. He could inspire, challenge, and connect people. His vision and conviction will always remain a unifying element within our company.

Peter’s dream of sustainable energy storage for the good of our planet remains his legacy. If we, together with our partners, suppliers, customers, and as a team, continue along this path with the same determination, his dream will live on — in our daily work and in what we achieve together.
